AUDITIONS for 2008-2009
Auditions are held at the Island Players theatre, 10009 Gulf Drive (Gulf Drive and Pine Avenue), Anna Maria, Florida. Scripts are usually available for perusal at the Island Branch Public Library. No preparation is necessary, the director will have those auditioning read scenes from the play. Callbacks are scheduled, if needed, at the discretion of the director. If you have never auditioned for us before, or it's been a while, please show up a little early to fill out an audition form and have a file picture taken.

THE PLAYS for 2008-2009
The Cocktail Hour

Audition: Sunday August 10th, 2008 at 7 PM
Play runs October 9 - 19, 2008
Cast: Father, Mother, Son, Daughter.
The play takes place in early fall in the mid-seventies, in a city in upstate New York.
Cliffhanger

Audition: Sunday October 12th, 2008 at 7 PM
Play runs December 4 - 14, 2008
Cast: male Professor in sixties, wife in sixties, female professor in early forties,
male student nineteen, police lieutenant in thirties.
The play takes place at the Professor's house, in late May
at the end of the semester, in a small college town somewhere in the Rockies.
The Affections of May

Play runs January 22 - February 8, 2009
Cast: Wife and a bed and breakfast owner - in thirties,
Husband and bed and breakfast owner, male - does odd jobs, male local banker.
The play takes place in the present in October, in a bed and breakfast.
Sylvia

Play runs March 19 - April 5, 2009
Cast: Sylvia, a female dog, Greg - husband to Kate, Kate - wife to Greg,
one actor is suggested for the following roles;
female marriage counselor, male dog owner, female neighbor.
The play takes place in a Manhattan apartment, with
selected areas serving as the park, the counselor's office, etc.
Alone Together Again

Play runs May 14-24, 2009
Cast: Helena, early 50s; George, mid 50s; Helena's Father, almost 80;
Helena's Mother, early 70s; George's Mother, late 70s.
The play takes place in the Butler home is West Los Angeles.
