The 'Welsh Players' as the Island Players affectionately call The Players' Theatre of Glamorgan, Wales, UK are to return to
The Island Playhouse next month to start off the 60th year of theatre on the Island.
They will bring with them one of the most famous of British plays, Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest".
The Welsh Players were here four years ago when they presented the Welsh Poet Dylan Thomas' most famous play "Under Milk Wood".
They were also here ten years ago to celebrate the Island Players' 50th anniversary.
The Welsh Players are delighted to be coming back and are bringing two new faces with them,
Gemma Titley who plays young Cecily and, straight from serving with the Royal Air Force in Iraq is Ryan Powell as Lane
the Butler to Algernon Moncrief.
Director Gareth Gibbs is no stranger to the Island Players as he has been coming back and forth since 1976. He has been a Guest Director with the Playhouse for the last three years when he Directed first "Quartet", then last year "Second Time Around" and straight after "The Importance of Being Earnest" he will be Directing A.R.Gurney's "The Cocktail Hour" his first American play - ever!
