OUR 63rd SEASON

 nice family

A story about a man who loved his wife so much, he almost told her. It's Thanksgiving Day and the first family gathering at the Lundeen household since the Patriarch died. At the gathering, Dad comes back as a ghost with a mission; tell his wife he loved her, something he neglected to tell her while he was alive. After all, they were only married for 41 years. The problem is, she can't hear or see him. The trouble begins when Mom invites a date to dinner.

Crazy Ladies

What do you do when you have three geriatric sisters as patients, and all they want to do is sit at home and talk (all at the same time) to each other? You move another person in with them. At least that's what Doc Lomax does when he has a new nurse needing a place to live - a nurse with a secret. Nurse Jean soon has the sisters planning parties, pulling pranks and jogging around town. But, when the nephew shows up with plans to sell the house, things get complicated again, especially with Christmas just around the corner. This heart-warming piece is loaded with one liners, and comes from the same author who brought you "Three Murders and it's only Monday".

murder

In a remote estate in the countryside of Connecticut, Jack Brooks, one of the most accomplished and eccentric painters of his generation, awaits the imminent arrival of his art dealer. But the visit is not a standard one, for Jack feels wronged, and he is intending to kill the man. As Jack lays out his intentions for the evening, his wife, Annie, calmly paints. She is reluctant to go along with the plan, until Jack's threat of violence convinces her otherwise. Harried and annoyed, Vincent, Jack's flamboyant art dealer arrives. Will Jack carry out his plan? Will Annie help him? Or is something going on?

gold

At the annual General Products stockholder's meeting, new officers must be elected because the president of the corporation has taken a big government post in Washington. The president is forced to sell his stock at a profit of three million dollars. The election is going smoothly and the meeting is about over when a timid old lady, who owns ten shares, intervenes. She has read every page of the annual report and she demands to know why the chairman of the board is being paid $170,000 a year, and how many hours he works to earn this money. The newly elected officers quickly shut her up by giving her a phony job and a generous paycheck. Soon, she becomes kind of a liaison officer for the other minority stockholders and discovers that a small firm General Products has just forced into bankruptcy is its own subsidiary! When the former president learns what a mess the current directors are making of his business, however, he resigns from the government job, and the big fight is on to regain control of his own business and, with our nice old lady, foil the wicked Board of Directors.

fools

This takes place in Kulyenchikov, a mythical Ukrainian village of "long ago" whose residents all live under a 200-year evil curse of stupidity. Leon Tolchinsky, an ambitious young schoolteacher, arrives in the village, where he has been hired to teach. After confusing conversations with locals, he goes off to find the home of his employer, Doctor Zubritsky. Leon meets with Doctor Zubritsky and his wife, Lenya, and is introduced to the Zubritsky's not too bright daughter, Sophia, and is immediately lovestruck. Leon learns that if he can't educate Sophia within 24 hours of his arrival, he too, will fall victim to the curse. The curse can also be broken if Sophia marries into the local family Yousekevitch. Leon makes comments to the audience as he goes about his task. Come along with us and see if you can determine what happens before the end of this parable.
