MONOLOGUE AND SCENE STUDY
Monday and Thursday; June 15 to July 23 - 7 PM - 10 PM - $50
Study, develop and perform scenes and monologues. Learn how an actor creates a character and communicates
intentions clearly in a scene. This class will enable students to learn techniques so they can harness them for
performances. Participants from this class are welcome to perform at a showcase presentation on Saturday, August 8th.
Instructor: Kelly Wynn Woodland has taught in the Manatee County School system for 25 years
and has acted and directed in theaters in Manatee and Sarasota counties; including six seasons of
"Shakespeare at The Island Players."
PLAY ANALYSIS/DIRECTING
Wednesday, June 17 to July 22 - 7 PM to 10 PM - $50
Class attendees will study how to approach a script as a director does.
Techniques learned will enable you to see another side of productions.
Participants from this class are welcome to perform at a showcase presentation on Saturday, August 8th

IMPROVISATION
Monday to Friday; July 27 to August 7 - 7 PM to 10 PM - No charge
Learn techniques that will enable you to act spontaneously. Acquire skills that help actors to think on their
feet and build ensemble interaction. Participants from this class are welcome to perform at a showcase presentation
Saturday, August 8th.
Instructor: Patrick Johnson has, for more than 30 years, appeared in and directed
improv shows across the country; including Disney, Trump Castle, Renaissance Fairs and various theatres.
He is excited to be back at The Island Players again this year.
Ages 16-adult only - No experience necessary!
